Saturday 15th December 2007

The alarm went off at about 8am this morning, giving us plenty of time to get ready, check out and make our way down to the train station with our bags. After having some breakfast, we were on our way. The first part of our journey to Margaret River was on the train - and it was really nice. We had loads of leg room and the views out of the window were really nice. Western Australia seems very open and spread out - not at all like the cities in the other parts of the country. When we reached a place called Bunbury, we changed over to a coach, which would take us the rest of the way.

We arrived in Margaret River this afternoon and someone from the YHA came to pick us up. For the next three days we're sleeping in a double room - and it's pretty cool. The YHA is very country lodge like and our room is quite big. After dropping our bags off, we took a walk into town to have a look around. The centre is only one main street, and we only made it half way down - before reaching the Coles supermarket, where we went in to get some things for our tea and then headed back. This evening we just chilled around the hostel, with the other travellers - a lot of whom are in the region working for the wineries.

Emma's coming in... SIX days!
