Thursday 9th August 2007

We had a day off from the cleaning today, but the alarm still woke us up because we wanted to get to Dreamworld when it opened. It woke us up at about 8am and then we had some breakfast and then Nikki made us a packed lunch (like the one's she used to make me & Wilksi when we went on City away trips: sarnies, crisps and... doughnuts). We caught the bus at about 8.45am and got to the park in plenty of time.

Dreamworld was quite a big park - it's not as good as the ones you get in America, but it still had some cool rides. We rode mode of the rides - Nikki may have rode them all (I don't like the spinny ones). The park also had a wildlife area, where we got to see tigers, crocodiles and alligators, snakes and lizards, birds, dingos, koalas and kangaroos (the first ones we've seen since getting here). We even had our picture taken holding one of the koalas (who looked like he was on drugs). We both liked the koala - but Nikki (who did the holding) said he stank!

Something else we got to do at Dreamworld was enter the Australian Big Brother house. The show finished on the weekend and so, for the next week or so, the house is open to the public. First we got to walk around the camera-run, and then actually into the main parts of the house and... dairy room!

We left Dreamworld at closing (5pm) and got back to our hostel at about 6pm. Nikki made us garlic mushrooms in a cream sauce for our tea and we watched a film called The Family Man in the hostel cinema.

Nikki's back at work tomorrow... No rest for the wicked!

Hello Strangers,

I've been nagged by Emma (something's never change - Em, if you're reading this then i'm only joking, if she's not, yeah she's still nagging me) to write a message. Look’s as if you're having the time of your life, really can’t believe how jealous I am, I think I'm going to have to scratch my itchy feet! I've done a bit of travels myself, just got back from Slovakia, 50p per pint and £1.20 for Marlboro lights..... I guess Belinda Carlise was right when she said heaven is a place on earth (damn I've got that song in my head now). found out that my name in Slovak is Nealko and a literal translation of that is non-alcoholic…… now that’s what you call irony.

Bizarrely I’m flummoxed for something to write, the hangover and lack of sleep is probably to blame for that though, keep in touch. (Emma has my Email if you need it) and when (if) you ever get back to blighty we’ll have to have a catch up (with beers, naturally).

Enjoy the rest of the trip and hopefully I’ll see you soon.

Take care,

Other (Neal)

PS. It's funny with all the entries about food it's almost like I'm still on the 349 home with Nikki!!!
